Everything You Need to Apply

Breezy requires four categories of information. All of it is entered digitally into the online form or retrieved automatically through the secure bank connection. Nothing needs to be printed or posted.

Personal Identity

Used to verify who you are

Full Legal Name

Your full name exactly as it appears on your Australian identification document. Nicknames or shortened versions are not accepted.

Required

Date of Birth

Your complete date of birth including day, month, and year. Used alongside your name and address to verify your identity.

Required

Current Residential Address

Your current full street address including suburb, state, and postcode. You will also be asked how long you have lived at this address.

Required

Australian Driver's Licence or Passport

Your licence number or passport number. If you hold a driver's licence, the state of issue is also required. If you do not hold a licence, an Australian passport is accepted.

One required

Mobile Number and Email Address

A current mobile number for SMS notifications and a valid email address for contract delivery and account correspondence.

Required

Employment and Income

Used to verify income eligibility

Employer Name and Address

The full registered name of your current employer and their business address. For casual workers with multiple employers, provide details of your primary employer.

Required

Job Title and Employment Type

Your current job title and whether you are employed full-time, part-time, or on a casual basis. How long you have been with your current employer is also required.

Required

Regular Gross Income

Your regular gross income before tax — not net income. The figure must be at least equivalent to $600 per week. Provide the amount and frequency (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly).

Required — min. $600/week

Additional Income Sources

Any secondary income including Centrelink payments, rental income, or other regular deposits should be declared. These supplement the primary income assessment.

If applicable

Bank Account and Statements

Used for disbursement and income verification

BSB and Account Number

The BSB and account number of your nominated Australian bank account. This account is used for both fund disbursement and repayment direct debits. The account must be in your name.

Required

Bank Name and Account Type

The name of your Australian financial institution and the type of account — for example, everyday transaction account, savings account, or offset account.

Required

90 Days of Bank Statement Data

Breezy retrieves this automatically via read-only technology. You do not need to download, print, or upload statements manually. You simply connect your account through the secure portal.

Auto-retrieved

Online Banking Login Credentials

Required to connect your account to the read-only portal. Your credentials are entered directly into your bank's secure portal, not into Breezy's system, and are never stored by Breezy.

Required for verification

Living Expenses

Used to calculate repayment capacity

Housing Costs

Your monthly rent or mortgage repayment. If you live rent-free with family, state this in the form. The figure is verified against your bank statement transaction history.

Required

Living and Household Costs

An estimate of your regular monthly spending on groceries, utilities, phone, internet, transport, and other day-to-day living expenses. Be as accurate as possible.

Required — estimate

Existing Loan and Credit Card Repayments

The monthly repayment amount on any existing personal loans, car loans, credit cards, or buy-now-pay-later facilities. Having more than one active personal loan disqualifies the application.

Required if applicable

Number of Financial Dependants

The number of people financially dependent on you, such as children or other family members you support. This affects the assessed living expense allowance used in the repayment capacity calculation.

What You Do Not Need

Documents Breezy Does Not Require

Compared to a traditional bank loan, Breezy's documentation requirements are significantly simpler. The following items are not required at any point during the application process.

Payslips

Income is verified via bank statement data. Uploading payslips is not required or accepted as a substitute.

Tax Returns

There is no requirement to supply personal tax returns, income tax assessments, or PAYG summaries.

Physical Documents

Nothing needs to be printed, scanned, photographed, or posted. The entire process is digital.

Proof of Address Letter

No utility bill or letter addressed to you at your residential address is required.

Employment Contract

You are not required to provide a copy of your employment contract or written confirmation from your employer.

References

No character references, personal references, or professional references are required.

Asset Valuations

For unsecured loans, no asset valuation is needed. Secured loans require asset nomination but not a formal valuation report.

Bank Statements Printed

Bank statements are retrieved automatically through the secure portal. Manual upload or printing is not required.

Bank Statement Technology

How the Bank Statement Connection Works

The bank statement connection is the part of the application that most applicants have questions about. Here is a step-by-step explanation of exactly what happens.

1

You Are Directed to a Secure Portal

During the application, you are taken to a secure third-party bank statement portal. This portal is a separate system from Breezy and is used specifically to retrieve your transaction data.

2

You Enter Your Online Banking Login

You enter your regular online banking username and password directly into the portal. These credentials go to your bank's own authentication system — not to Breezy. Breezy never receives or stores your banking login details.

3

The Portal Retrieves 90 Days of Transactions

Once authenticated, the portal pulls the last 90 days of transaction history from your nominated account in read-only format. This data is transmitted to Breezy for assessment purposes.

4

Breezy Reviews the Data, Cannot Transact

The Breezy assessment team receives the transaction data and reviews it for income deposits, regular expense patterns, and any financial difficulty indicators. At no point can Breezy initiate a payment, transfer, or any other action on your account.

5

The Connection Is Temporary

The bank account connection is used only for the purpose of retrieving your statements during the application. It is not a recurring or ongoing connection. Once the statements are retrieved, no further access to your account is made.

Security Assurances

Your Login is Never Stored

Breezy does not receive, store, or have access to your online banking username or password at any point.

Read-Only Access Only

The portal connection is read-only. No payment, transfer, or account change can be initiated through it.

256-Bit Encryption

All data transmitted between the portal and Breezy is encrypted using industry-standard 256-bit SSL encryption.

Privacy Act Compliance

Breezy handles your financial data in compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988.

Not Retained Beyond Assessment

Transaction data retrieved for assessment purposes is handled in accordance with Breezy's privacy policy and is not retained indefinitely.

ACL Licensed Lender

Breezy holds Australian Credit Licence 389610 and operates under regulatory oversight that governs how customer data may be used.

By the Numbers

How Breezy Compares on Documentation Simplicity

The number of documents required at each type of lender varies significantly. Breezy's digital-first approach substantially reduces the preparation burden.

Approximate Number of Documents or Steps Required — Breezy vs Traditional Lenders

Note: The chart above is illustrative and based on general observations of typical documentation requirements across lender categories. Actual requirements vary between individual lenders. Breezy's digital bank statement technology eliminates the need for manual document uploads that most other lenders still require.

Common Questions

Documents FAQs

No. Breezy does not require manual upload of payslips, bank statements, or any other documents. Income is verified digitally through the read-only bank statement technology, which automatically retrieves your last 90 days of transaction history once you connect your account through the secure portal. No scanning, photographing, or uploading of documents is necessary.
Yes. Your online banking login credentials are entered directly into your bank's own secure portal — not into Breezy's application form or any Breezy-owned system. Breezy receives only the resulting read-only transaction data and never has access to your username, password, or any other banking credentials. The portal uses the same level of encryption as online banking itself.
An Australian passport is accepted as an alternative to a driver's licence. Other government-issued Australian photo identification may also be accepted in some circumstances. If you are unsure whether your ID is suitable, contact the Breezy team before beginning your application so we can confirm what will be accepted in your case.
Breezy typically assesses the primary account where your regular income is deposited. If your income is split across multiple accounts, connect the account that shows the majority of your regular income deposits. If your situation is complex, contact the Breezy team before applying and they can advise you on the best approach for your circumstances.
Breezy requires 90 days of bank statement data to verify income consistency and living expense patterns. If your nominated account has been active for less than 90 days, there may be insufficient transaction history to complete the assessment. You may be able to connect an older account or a previous account with sufficient history. Contact the team if you are in this situation before applying.
Breezy accepts casual employment and income from multiple sources provided the combined regular income consistently meets or exceeds the $600 per week threshold for at least three consecutive months. In the application, declare all regular income sources. The bank statement review will identify the income deposits and the assessment team will consider the pattern of income rather than requiring a single uniform source.
For most applicants, gathering the required information takes between three and five minutes. The most common delay is locating your BSB and account number, which can usually be found on your banking app, a recent statement, or your bank's website. Having your driver's licence or passport, employer details, and an estimate of your monthly expenses ready before you start will make the application process smooth and fast.
